Tasting Notes:
Spicy stone fruit, discreet in the aromatics, but solid and restrained. Tastefully, the vintage shows again the tension curve, which is renown firstly by Riesling and secondly from the vineyard! Pleasant, invigorating acidity, piquant and fruity taste, wonderfully full yet slim. Convincing length and maturity potential. Maturation period: 2019 – 2036.
“This wine's gloriously heady notes of lime and lemon zest hit the pleasure center of the brain upon first whiff. That theme of bold, zesty citrus continues with abandon on the taut, linear and concentrated palate. It leaves a lip-smacking, refreshing finish that's loaded with pithiness. If you want refreshment and verve, this is the answer. Lovely now, sure to develop”. – Anne Krebiehl MW, Wine Enthusiast
“Clearly the most successful of Loimer's 2016 single-vineyard dry Rieslings, this has excellent ripeness. Fantastic fruit and depth, lots of herbal and mineral complexity and a very long, crystalline finish.” – James Suckling
“Loimer's 2016 Ried Seeberg "Erste Lage" opens bright, fresh and piquant on the nose with dusty mineral and concentrated fruit aromas—very cool and bright but intense! On the palate, this is a rich, concentrated, very well-structured and piquant dry Riesling with dense texture and a long, powerful finish.” – Stephan Reinhardt, Robert Parker
“Pure, intense smoky citrus aroma. Tight and intense with mouth-watering freshness balanced by really intense fruit, focused and precise and long.” – Julia Harding MW, Jancis Robinson
