Fabulous Dry Wines

Known as one of the world’s greatest producer of sweet white wine. Gerhard Kracher is also capable to produce astonishing red wine cuvée and vibrant, dry white wine. Both came from the same vineyards in Burgenland and his fabulous dry white is produced from Pinot Gris from the vineyard’s name: Seewinkel that lies between the shore of the Neusiedlersee and Illmitz in Burgenland.

Vines are planted densely in the vineyard to stress the battle among the vines leading to lower yields but a deeper root and more concentrated fruits. His Pinot Gris is later aged 7 months in stainless steel tanks producing wines that are very fresh, aromatic, flavorful and vibrant. It is very complex yet unpretentious with its grapefruit, apple, herbal tea, meringue and jasmine flavors. With touch of spicy clove and lifted berry aromas and cherry. His wonderful red wine cuvée Blend II is made from 40% Merlot and 60% Zweigelt. It has soft and ripe texture in the mouth, with bright cherry flavors and a soft lingering finish. Kracher’s wines are uniquely delicious, even their most simple wines are very fabulous!
