The Princes of Oettingen-Wallerstein have a long and noble history dates back almost 900 years. It’s one of the oldest lineages in Germany dated to as early as 1147. One of the most notable members was Prince Ludwig (1791-1870) who was King Ludwig I’s Interior Minister and played a leading role on Bavaria's political stage. Today, the house is among the oldest houses in Europe and has close economical and cultural ties with the Bavarian “Ries” region for centuries. Their very own beers have been brewing since late 1500s keeping with the tradition of excellence. Only the best regional malt and hops are used to create unique taste with week-long maturation resulting in excellent beer.Wallerstein beer is among the most loved beers in the country.
