Wow Wines From Languedoc

In 1999, Olivier Binet and Pierre Jacquet has taken their passion for high quality wines and established a vineyard in Languedoc, south of France. They started from scratch and were able to bottle a small quantity seven years later and constituted their vineyards in 2010. It is their philosophy to naturally produce high quality and authentic terroir-wines clearly bearing the signature of the region.

The vines are planted on the slopes overlooking the Mediterranean plain and the southern foothills of the Cevennes in the heart of the Faugères AOC. The uniqueness of the terroir of Faugères lies in its soil. It is a sparse and stony shale soil “schist” as found in the Côte Rôtie (Rhône Valley), the Priorat (Catalonia), the Mosel (Germany), and in the Porto region (Portugal). They cultivate the vineyards as naturally and use no chemical fertilizers, rather purely a mix of sheep mulch added to grape rests. As a result of these efforts, the soil remains living in the true sense of the word, with the vine roots digging deeply into the stony soil, decisive in producing wines of exceptional quality. Since 2008 they are certified for organic viticulture in conversion (label AB) and accredited for biodynamic agriculture by DEMETER in 2010.
