The Fantastic Four

At the east of Preignac, south of Bordeaux is a small commune name Toulenne where Julie Gonet-Médeville produces both Graves blanc and rouge from the vineyards of Château Respide-Médeville. In 2008, Julie and Xavier bought Château des Eyrins from Eric Grangerou whose family has been cellar masters of Château Margaux for more than three generations. The estate is located on the top of a hillside plateau on the left bank of the Gironde River with clay and sandy soil perfect for great dry whites and reds.

All of the viticultural and vinification processes are practiced organically on this estate. The fruits are so pure it shines through both red and white Graves AOC. The Dame de Respide Graves Rouge is a well balanced half Merlot, half Cabernet Sauvignon. Their goal is to let the grape mature to its optimum maturity to have wine with characters and colors along with aromatic and finesse. They continue to add more and more fabulous wines to their lineup. The classy Margaux is incredibly fine, fresh and deep, with complex fragrant and solid core expressing its regional identity. In 2009, they also purchased Monplaisir and a Bordeaux Superieur adjacent to Margaux, with wine parcels below Château d’Issan and another below Château Margaux. Made up with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc which the cuvée is aged with only 10% aging in cask.
